Tauriko School is establishing an Enviro-Schools team. Two members from each class will be invited to be a part of the team. This team will drive the Enviro-Schools projects at our school. I really want to be in enviro schools because I love nature and getting dirty so I would be a good person to help with the gareden.I have some ideas for our school and here is some of them:
animal corner
no rubbish day (mum and dad won't like that one!)
have compost bins
worm farm
and a furit orchid.

I want to do this because before I moved from England I used to do gardening with my Grandad and know everything you need to know about gardening!!!!! I think it would be good to have an organic vegetable patch and herb garden at school, so that children could learn how to grow their own food.
I think it would be nice if we had a bird table in the school grounds also and we could feed the wild birds and learn more about them.

I have an idea of growing sunflwers all arond the school.So when its summer, native brids can eat the seeds while we are eating our lunch.
We can grow our own vegetables and fruit. We can share our ideas and recipes to eat our food. We can put recipes on the websit to give ideas to bring for lunches that is made at home not in packetes.
We can decoate the school with pictures and ways to look after the earth.
Hi I'm Brooke.J, I'm in the tall poppies room. I'm a country girl who loves nature and seeing a clean green country side. I enjoy working in the garden and I have my own vege patch. I don't like pollution and I help recycle at home. Our food scraps go to our animals and garden clppings to our compost, and our recycables go to the recycling center. I would like to help keep our school environment clean and green.

I do care for the enviroment and thats why I would like to be in the Tauriko School Enviro team. My speech this year was on pollution and the enviroment so I know a lot of facts. I'm always outside doing things and weeding and gardening. I love nature and what it provides and I would really like to protect it more. Ithink i should be in the enviro school program beacause i like to mow,strim,weed, dig and plant herbs and veges.i mow once a week with my push mower and mow every two weeks i mow with a ridon mower. i've recently move a pile of leafs,grass and weeds. We just ddid are whole garden up for summer znd the size of it i 1.6 acres
