Room 7 have begun a fundraising activity to raise money to build a wall around an orphanage and school in Kenya. We heard about the programme to build the wall on Close Up and how Conrad Smith, the All Black is giving his support
to raise the money.
The orphange and school were built by a New Zealand charity called So They Can and you can see what they are up to at their website www.sotheycan.org.nz
When we saw the children at the orphanage we realised how lucky we are and it made us wonder how we could help.
Inspired by the programme Pennies for Peace we decided to collect as many 10cent coins as we could, attach them to paper bricks, each worth $1 and donate them to Conrad's Wall.
We have already discovered that 10c coins aren't worth much by themsleves but if there are enough of them, they can be very valuable and powerful.. We believe our 10c coins can
stack up and build the wall to help keep the children safe and happy.
We want to help the children at the Holding Hands Orphange and we'd welcome your support too.
We believe that every small good deed makes the world a better place.
